Colman Domingo, the Oscars’ After Dark host, enlivened the red carpet by wearing a bright pink Atelier Versace suit. Nominated in a best supporting acting role for Regina King’s One Night In Miami, Leslie Odom Jr stole the spotlight in an Oscars-gold Brioni suit (made from Jacquard fabric with real 24-karat gold-threaded into the suit) and a Cartier ring. To pin down the ultimate King and Queen of red carpet style is not an easy feat, considering the number of leading talented men and women who brought their A-game to the Oscars red carpet. They embraced the spirit of the ceremony with innovative and classic style choices. Nominated in the best supporting actor category for Judas and the Black Messiah, LaKeith Stanfield wore a Saint Laurent 1970s inspired black jumpsuit with an oversized white collar. Such an outfit is rather daring and quite tricky to pull off, yet a timeless brand.

Best Dressed

Daniel Kaluuya dressed for the occasion in an understated Bottega Veneta and jewellery by David Yurman. He won an Oscar for best supporting actor for Judas and the Black Messiah. Tyler Perry also chose a more classic ensemble, a made-to-measure suit by Giorgio Armani with a matching jacket, bow tie, and shirt in emerald green paired with black trousers. Contrasting textures, colours, and styles were overtaking the conventional tuxedo. The ladies looked equally majestic in jaw-dropping gowns that featured intricate embellishments. Zendaya wore Valentino Haute Couture and Bulgari jewellery worth $6 million. Oscar nominee Carey Mulligan in the best actress category for Promising Young Woman looked like a goddess in yet another Valentino Haute Couture gown. Another favourite was Angela Bassett, who wore Alberta Ferretti and Chopard jewellery.
